This is the most commonly confused pair on any school shortlist, and the reason is that the two products came from opposite ends of the building. Teachmint started in the classroom — teaching, content delivery, a teacher-and-student mobile experience — and grew outward into school administration. DigiERP started in the back office, with fees, examinations and records, and works outward to the portals. Both ends matter. Which one you buy first depends entirely on where your institution is actually bleeding time.

We build DigiERP, so treat this as a vendor’s comparison and not an independent review. We have deliberately not published the other product’s pricing or a feature-by-feature scorecard, because those change and we cannot verify them for your institute today. What we have done is set out what each product is built for, state our own terms plainly, and give you the questions that settle it. Ask both of us the same ones.

A quick way to tell which problem you have

Answer this honestly: when something goes wrong this month, is it a teaching problem or a paperwork problem?

  • Teaching problem. Teachers have nowhere good to put content, classes are partly online, parents want to see what was taught, you want a clean mobile experience for students and staff. A classroom-first platform is the right first purchase.
  • Paperwork problem. Two people quote two different collection figures. A duplicate receipt takes two days. A concession only makes sense when one particular clerk explains it. Results take weeks. Transcript requests mean opening a cupboard. Attendance shortage is discovered after it is too late to fix. That is a campus ERP problem, and a teaching platform will not touch it.

Most institutes that call us have the second problem and had assumed the first product would solve it.

Where a full ERP goes further

The modules that decide an administrative purchase are the unglamorous ones: a fee engine that survives a mid-term concession, a scholarship arriving after the receipt and a refund on withdrawal; an examination system that produces your affiliating university’s exact format, with backlog, supplementary, revaluation and moderation; HR and payroll; accounts and inventory; hostel, transport and library; and records that are still retrievable in ten years when a 2016 student asks for a transcript.

What DigiERP commits to, in writing

  • One flat annual AMC. Unlimited students, staff and parent accounts. No per-user charge, no per-module charge, no hidden charges. Adding people to the system costs nothing, which is the difference between live data and week-old data.
  • All 18 modules included. Admissions, academics, fees, attendance, timetable, examinations, certificates, library, hostel, transport, HR and payroll, accounts, inventory, portals and reporting arrive together rather than being sold one at a time.
  • Live in 1–2 weeks. Process mapping, data import, your own formats on receipts and mark sheets, then training.
  • Implemented by the people who build it. No reseller in between.
  • Unlimited support and training sessions for as long as you are with us.
  • Exit on one month’s written notice, with a free data handover. Your institution owns its data.
  • A university and its affiliated colleges run in one installation, with each college’s data kept separate.

Where a teaching-first platform goes further

We are not going to pretend otherwise: if your priority is live or hybrid teaching, content libraries and a polished classroom app, a product built for that will feel better than the teaching side of any administrative ERP, ours included. Buying the wrong one first is the expensive mistake, not buying the cheaper one.

The five questions that actually decide it

Every campus ERP brochure in India lists the same modules. The decision is never made on that list — it is made on these five, and you should put them to every vendor on your shortlist including us.

  • How is it priced, and what is the bill in year three? Per-student and per-user licensing means the cost rises every intake and every time you let another clerk into the system. Ask for a three-year figure in writing, not a first-year discount.
  • Who does the implementation — the company that wrote the software, or a partner? Somebody has to sit with your fee clerk and import your records. Find out which organisation that is before you sign.
  • Show me a concession and a refund on screen. Not a slide. A half-year waiver applied mid-term, a scholarship that lands after the receipt, an instalment plan renegotiated in December, a refund on withdrawal. This is where most education ERPs quietly come apart.
  • Will it produce our university’s exact reporting format? Bring the current format to the meeting and make them run it. “Almost right” is a re-typing job every examination cycle, forever.
  • How do we get our data out if we leave? Ask for the exit clause in writing. A vague answer is the answer.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Teachmint if teaching, content and the classroom experience is the problem you are solving right now.
  • Pick DigiERP if fees, examinations, attendance, certificates, payroll and records are what consume your office — and if you want all of it plus parent and student portals on one flat annual price with unlimited users.
  • Run both if you genuinely need both. DigiERP integrates with payment gateways, biometric devices, LMS platforms, library systems and accounting software, so a teaching platform can sit alongside it rather than compete with it.

Both products change over time. Get a current written quote and a live demo from each rather than relying on any article, this one included.

How to settle it in an afternoon

Do not start with a demo. Bring one real process — this year’s admission list, or last term’s fee register with its concessions and instalments intact — and ask each vendor to run it in front of you. Half an hour of that tells you more than a two-hour presentation, and it is the single fastest way to separate software that fits your institute from software that merely demonstrates well.

If you want to put DigiERP through that test, call +91 83498 62321 or write to contact@digierp.in and send us your own file. Send us your tender document too, if you have one, and we will answer it clause by clause with a yes or a no.
